About the Conference

On behalf of the International Association for Relationship Research (IARR) it gives me great pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2014 IARR Conference.

For over a decade, the IARR has hosted what is regarded as one of the major world conferences on relationships. Bringing together relationship scientists across the fields of psychology, sociology, communication and anthropolgy this interdisciplinary conference provides a rich and stimulating forum for the presentation of cutting edge ideas regarding the study of relationships. The IARR conference has a tradition of showcasing research that can lead to new insights and understandings regarding the science of relationships -- research that has significant implications for theory, practice and policy. Thus, we encourage relationship scholars, practitioners and policy makers to attend this conference.

The friendly and social atmosphere that is typical of an IARR conference provides the perfect opportunity for the exchange of ideas between scholars from different disciplines and countries. Further, the strong focus on capacity building means that IARR conferences provide an especially important opportunity for those who are in the early and mid stages of their careers  to speak with leading experts in the field of relationships in dedicated sessions that deal with issues about the profession.

The 2014 IARR conference will be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Melbourne Australia 10th – 13th July 2014. Voted the world's most livable city in 2011 and 2012, Melbourne is a cosmopolitan city known for its culture, art, music, fine food and beauty.

A visit to Melbourne is is sure to leave a lasting impression.  Melbourne is also the gateway to all that Australia has to offer including the Great Barrier Reef and tropical north, Uluru and Central Australia and the vast west coast.

Details regarding keynote speakers, call for papers and travel information will appear on the conference website.

Until then, save the date, and we look forward to welcoming you in 2014.
